About Diogo Dutra
Diogo Dutra is a serial Deep Tech entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience building and scaling science-based startups in Brazil. He is the co-founder and CEO of CAOS Focado, a venture-building holding that partners with scientists and technical founders to create impactful startups at the intersection of frontier technology and pressing global challenges.
His entrepreneurial journey includes co-founding Cromai, a leading agtech company using computer vision and AI to improve efficiency in weed control, and Quantis, a biotech startup pioneering 3D bioprinting of human tissues for regenerative medicine. He is also a partner and board advisor at Kynology, a healthtech focused on digitizing physiotherapy through motion capture and AI.
More recently, Diogo co-created ConsCiência, a micro-fund dedicated to investing in Deep Tech startups aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (particularly SDG 3 – Health and Well-being, and SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production). The fund supports early-stage companies with strong scientific foundations and high potential for societal and environmental impact.
Diogo has two successful exits in his track record: the first with Nave à Vela, an edtech sold to Grupo Arco in 2018, and the second with Onyma, a digital health startup acquired by the Bencorp Group. These experiences gave him deep insights into go-to-market strategy, business development, and the nuances of scaling complex technologies in real-world markets.
A mechatronic engineer by training, Diogo further specialized in Engineering Design at the prestigious École des Mines de Paris, where he developed a systemic, creative approach to solving complex problems—an approach that continues to shape his work across innovation, investment, and entrepreneurship. He also led the Brazilian delegation at the Hello Tomorrow Global Summit 2025, consolidating his role as a key voice in Brazil’s growing Deep Tech ecosystem.
